Employee's legs fractured in fall from power pole

Employee #1, a foreman for Pacific Gas & Electric Co., was reinstalling power lines that he had taken down so several trees in the area could be felled. After the trees were felled and the telephone lines replaced, Employee #1 did a visual inspection and hammer test of the pole, then climbed to the 20 ft level to install the power lines. The power pole fell over while Employee #1 was on it. He was hospitalized with fractured legs.
