Investigation Summary
At about 1:20 p.m. on December 7, 1994, Employee #1, of the West Valley Flying Club, was working with another maintenance mechanic attempting to remove the driving gear of an aircraft magneto, which was being held in a bench-mounted vise. Employee #1 used a pry bar to move the gear wheel, rather than the usual gear puller, which was unavailable at the time. As he pulled on the pry bar, it slipped and gouged his hand. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
