Investigation Nr: 170727481
Event: 01/04/1994
Carpenter cuts fingertip with circular saw

Employee #1, a carpenter working on a residence remodeling project, injured his left finger with a Skilsaw while trimming a window opening header. Employee #1 was standing on the walkway and lifting the 7 1/4 in. portable saw to cut above his head. Before the blade touched the window, it cut the middle fingertip on the left hand to approximately 3/4 of the nail. Employee #1 was inattentive while positioning his left hand as he held the telescoping guard open to start the plunge-cut. There were no witnesses.
