Employee suffers fractures when caught in moving equipment

Employee #1 was performing his regular assigned job as an operator of the Autostack automobile loading system at Toyota Vehicle Processors, Inc., when he was caught by the moving automobile carriage and pinned against the frame of the vehicle ramp. He suffered multiple serious injuries including a crushed right foot, a fractured right leg, and a fractured pelvis. The Autostack loading system in use is not provided with any safety devices to prevent worker entrapment between the moving carriage and the stationary elements of the equipment.
