Employees fall from metal frame scaffold as plank breaks

Employee #1 and an employee of a general contractor were conducting a shear wall inspection at the second story of a new single family home under construction in the Oakland Hills firestorm area. They were on the second tier work platform of a metal frame scaffold. As they started along the wall, the scaffold shifted away from the building and both workers stepped onto a single plank. The plank broke, causing both workers to fall to the ground, a distance of about 13 ft 6 in. Employee #1 did not require hospitalization.
