Employee injured when run over by truck at batch plant

A double bottom dump tractor trailer, driven by an independent driver, was stuck in the sand at the top of the unloading ramp over the hopper for the sand stacker. Employee #1 was attempting to remove the sand, using a shovel, from underneath the tires when the tractor's left rear tire made contact with Employee #1, causing injuries to Employee #1's legs. Power to the trailer had not been turned off while removing the sand.
