Employee Loses Finger While Falling From Platform Ladder

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on July 11, 1998, Employee #1's finger was amputated. He was working at Smart Modular Technology, which is located in Fremont, California. Employee #1 climbed onto the safety guardrail of a 5 foot platform ladder and fell to the floor. As he fell, his left small finger became caught in the cross bracing of the rack. He was hospitalized and his finger was amputated at the joint.
