Employee Amputates Finger While Using Crimper

At approximately 8:35 a.m. on September 6, 2005, Employee #1 was working at the B8U-35 roll crimping station. Employee #1 was anticipating the discharge of the crimped shell and placed her hand through the discharge opening of the cabinet. Employee #1's finger tip made contact with the moving crimper. The discharge opening was not guarded. Employee #1 got her fingertip removed when it was struck by the crimper. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
