Roofer Dies after Fall from Roof

At about 12:00 p.m. on February 20, 2006, Employee #1, a roofer, was removing old wood shakes from the pitched (4.5 in 12) roof of a detached parking garage. He fell off the roof and sustained a head injury and a fractured arm. He was transported by paramedics to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, but never regained consciousness. Employee #1 died on March 2, 2006.
