Machinist Operating Punch Press Amputates Finger

On May 8, 2001, a machinist working swing shift at Jennings Technology in San Jose, California was operating a Johnson punch press. She was using a pull back device when she suffered a finger amputation. The employee had operated the press on and off for 19 years. There was no supervisor on the shift at the time of the incident.
