Employee injured in fall from citrus tree

At 6:00 a.m. on June 28, 1999, Employee #1 climbed up a 7-to-8-feet high citrus tree to do some pruning. Employee #1 had a hand saw and pruning shears to do his work. Employee #1 had climbed approximately 4-feet high into the tree when he fell and hit a branch on the way down. Employee #1 received laceration to his right side and was taking to JFK Hospital in Indio, California. Employee #1 was kept overnight for observation because of possible infection from the injury. However, no infection set in and Employee #1 was released the next day.
