Employee injured after falling from roof

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on March 2, 2004, an employee was assisting a coworker to fit -up tongue and groove 0.75-in. plywood on the garage roof. A triangular section approximately 42-in. by 50-in. would not fit up and the employee was to drive it into place while the coworker lined up the tongue and groove. When the employee stood on the overhanging end of the plywood; approximately 10 in. overhand, it tipped and he rode it off the edge of the roof and landed on a dirt surface approximately 7 ft below and then bounced 4 ft more into a gravel-filled trench next to the garage wall. He fractured 3 ribs, one of which punctured his lung, requiring hospitalization for approximately one week.
