Employee's Finger Is Amputated When Crushed

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 11, 2004, Employee #1 was sorting lumber at a sawmill. He was working at a chipper discharge chute when an 8 ft piece of lumber struck another piece of lumber that he was holding. His hand was crushed between the lumber he was holding and a metal bar. He was hospitalized and one of his fingertips was amputated.
