Investigation Summary
Two employees were removing rain gutters from a single-story home that had become rotten and were previously installed improperly. The employee was working from a 6 ft Stokes heavy duty, dual side stepladder. He was on the third step, stepping down with his right foot when his foot slipped on the wet step. Water from the gutters that were being removed had caused the step to become wet. He fractured his right femur at the hip joint. He was hospitalized and required surgery.
