Employee's leg amputated by auger

Employee #1 was cleaning the bin of the combine so he could change the seed. He entered the bin while the unloading auger was running and started sweeping down the seed. The field supervisor came by to see how he was doing. He spoke with Employee #1 for a minute and got into the combine cab to idle down the motor of the auger. The field supervisor stepped out of the cab, heard a thump, and went to see what happened. He saw that Employee #1 had been caught by and pulled down into the auger. The supervisor got back in the cab, shut off the motor, and started calling for help. Employee #1 was extricated and transported to the hospital. His right leg was amputated above the knee.
