Employee killed when struck by falling tree

Employee #1 had undercut and backcut a 120 foot tall Douglas fir with a butt diameter of approximately 20 inches. The tree was faced up to fall east, but it fell south instead, striking and killing Employee #1. He was found between the felled tree and a standing tree 8 feet 6 inches behind the felled tree's stump.
