Falling Truss Strikes Two Employees, Killing One

On January 24, 2005, Employee #1 and Employee #2 were walking past a 35.5-ft-long steel roof truss that was stored in a vertical position. The truss fell over, striking both employees. Employee #1 received a crushing injury to his head and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Employee #2 received a minor head injury and a crushing injury to his left leg. He was hospitalized, and his leg was partially amputated.
