Employee's finger amputated in freight elevator doors

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on October 10, 1996, Employee #1 was inside a freight elevator at the Musco West Building. He was pulling on the doors, which closed from the top and the bottom at the same time. Employee #1's left index finger became caught between the closing doors and was amputated at the first knuckle.
