Employees severely burned by fireball

At approximately 7:15 a.m. on September 12, 1992, Employees #1 and #2 started the Banbury after a 16-hour shutdown for regular maintenance. The temperature could not be monitored due to an internal shutoff. The batch continually got hotter until it ignited. When Employees #1 and #2 raised the ram to observe the process, a fireball blew out the mouth of the machine. Employee #1 sustained third-degree burns over 70 percent of his body; Employee #2 sustained third-degree burns over 30 percent of his body.
