Investigation Summary
AT ABOUT 4 PM ON OCTOBER 26, 1990, EMPLOYEE #1 WAS CALLED TO LUBE AND GREASE A TRUCK THAT HAD JUST COME IN. EMPLOYEE #1 WAS LYING ON HIS BACK NEAR THE LEFT FRONT WHEELS WHEN HE HEARD THE MOTOR CLICK ON. HE IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO MOVE OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. AS HE WAS CRAWLING OUT, THE TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD, AND THE FRONT WHEELS ROLLED ONTO HIS LEFT SIDE. EMPLOYEE #1 FELT PAIN AND YELLED OUT. HE WAS ABLE TO CRAWL OUT FROM UNDER THE SEMI-TRAILER. THE PARAMEDICS WERE CALLED AND HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HENRY MAYO HOSPITAL, WHERE HE WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR THREE DAYS FOR OBSERVATION AND TREATMENT.
