Employee #1 was told to replace the waterstained tiles from a store's 8 ft high ceiling. She was using the store's stepladder when she fell 5 to 6 ft. Paramedics transported her to the hospital; she was released after 3 hours to recover at home. Since the fall, Employee #1 has reported having back problems. Employee #1 did not remember details about the accident, and there were no witnesses. She was the store manager and the district manager had assigned her this job, which was not part of her normal responsibilities.
