Employee's ring finger amputated by boring head

Employee #1 was working on a vertical mill using a Gamet boring head. About a year earlier, he had changed a grease fitting from one that was flush to the surface to one that stuck out from the surface. The grease fitting turned with the boring head. Employee #1 had put his left hand on the head to make an adjustment when his ring became caught in the grease fitting and his ring finger was amputated. Employee #1 was not employed at the time., but was working on his own project on his day off.
