Employee fractures hip and wrist in fall from stepladder

At approximately 1:10 p.m. on June 12, 1991, Employee #1, an electrician working for Claremont University Center, was working alone, drilling a hole in the wall while standing on the second step of an eight-rung stepladder. He was facing the wrong way, and when the ladder tilted to the opposite side, he fell 6 ft to the floor. He fractured his right wrist and hip, and was hospitalized for about four weeks and then released to recuperate at home. When Employee #1 was interviewed by phone about the accident, he said that it would take him about three months to recuperate.
