Event: 07/20/1993
Employee's hand slips between press rollers that clip finger

On 7-20-93 at approx 7:30 p.m., Employee #1 was in the process of "wash -up" on the second section of the Miehle-Roland six color, sheet fed press. Employee #1 had applied a washing solution to the dampening unit rollers using a plastic squeeze bottle and was sliding the steel step plate back in place. As he slid the plate, his righthand, which was wet, slipped off the plate. His right index finger went between the two in-running rollers. The employee immediately pulled his hand back. His injury resulted in the amputation of the tip of the index finger below the first joint.
