Employee injured in fall from roof

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on July 1, 1992, Employee #1 was removing a piece of 8 ft lumber from a roof during a roofing operation, not using fall protection. He stepped on a weak spot and fell through the roof 22 ft to a concrete floor. He suffered fractures to his head, pelvis, and both legs. Employee #1 was taken to County USC Medical Center, then transferred to Long Beach Memorial Hospital and admitted. A citation was issued to the employer, who was advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent similar accidents.
