Employee hospitalized after being struck by falling upright

At about 9:30 a.m. on November 6, 1991, Employee #1, a 21-year-old employee of Seizmic, Inc., was working with four other employees mounting an unsecured upright at Tube Sales Inc. Commerce. The heavy upright tilted and fell on Employee #1's right foot, fracturing it. Employee #1 also sustained a superficial cut on his head. Employee #1 was taken to Beverly Hospital of Montebello and hospitalized for four days. He is now being treated as an outpatient. A citation was issued to the employer ordering the company to make the necessary corrections and to train the employees to prevent future accidents.
