Employee's finger amputated by dropped jack

At about 2:30 p.m. on January 2, 1992, Employee #1 was returning an aircraft jack to the lower shelf on the right side of a Connex container used for jack storage when he slipped and dropped the jack. The 120 lb aircraft axle jack landed on the middle finger of his left hand, amputating the fingertip at the first joint. Employee #1 was transported by ambulance to the Ridgecrest Community Hospital, where he was treated and released.
