Investigation Summary
Employee #1 and two coworkers were elevated approximately 16 ft by a scissor lift, hanging dry wall on the ceiling of an auditorium. Employee #1 stated that after having fastened a sheet of drywall with a nail gun he was lowering the gun from overhead to waist level when he lost his balance. As Employee #1 tried to regain his balance with the nail gun in his hand, the trigger depressed. Employee #1 accidentally hit his right knee, causing the gun to discharge the 1 7/8 in. nail into his knee. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
