Employee burned in explosion of movie pyrotechnics

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on June 19, 1992, Employee #1 was installing pyrotechnics in a stunt car in preparation for a movie scene. As the final preparations were taking place, a premature activation of the pyrotechnics occurred. Employee #1 was seriously burned and required extensive hospitalization. He had been hired by the film production company on the day before the accident because of his expertise in pyrotechnics. Due to the extent of his injuries, Employee #1 was not available to be interviewed.
