Employee's hand injured in table saw

Employee #1 was assigned to make a sign frame out of 1 1/2 in. redwood using a 7 1/2 HP, 14 in. diameter tilting table saw. Once the wood had been cut and beveled, Employee #1 was going to groove and dado the wood. After making the necessary blade and guide adjustments, he began to feed the wood into the blade by hand. The wood was approximately 3 in. into the blade when it began to lift. Employee #1 put his hand on the wood to hold it down, but the wood suddenly kicked back and his hand was drawn across the dado blades.
