Employee's fingers amputated by table saw

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 20, 1992, Employee #1 was operating a table saw with the guard removed. He was attempting to cut a 1 in. by 6 in. wooden board and accidentally amputated the ends of three left fingers. The table saw was provided with two factory-type guards that were not in use. The employee was transported to UCI Medical Center for emergency treatment and was hospitalized for further treatment and surgery.
