Employee's finger amputated by revolving saw blade

Employee #1, of Plytech Corp., was ripping a 2 ft by 3 ft board when his right middle finger contacted the revolving saw blade. His finger was amputated at the first joint. A swing guard was attached to the saw, but was not in place at the time of the accident.
