Employee killed when dragged into conveyor pulley

Employee #1, of Hyponex Corporation, was feeding fertilizer into a hopper, and, when he had the chance, cleaning spilled fertilizer from around and under the pulley-powered conveyor belt. He was cleaning the tail pulley under the conveyor with a broken shovel handle when the stick was caught by the turning pulley. He was dragged into the machine, crushed, and killed. The pulley was not guarded.
