Investigation Summary
Employee #1, of Exhibit Group, Inc., was notching a piece of wood using a table saw in the rip saw mode. The process required him to hold the wood with both hands over the saw blade. He did not use the provided saw blade hood guard. During the sawing operation the blade momentarily stalled, so he pushed down a little harder on it. His fingers were not kept clear of the turning saw blade and he cut off his left ring finger at the second joint.
