Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on May 27, 1998, Employee #1 sustained fatal injuries when he fell off the motorcycle he was testing. This accident occurred at the Willow Springs Raceway located in Rosamond, CA. Employee #1 was riding a prototype motorcycle around a curve at a rate between 80 to 100 miles per hour. He struck another employee on the inside of the track, who was taking pictures. According to a witness, the other employee was in the line of the motorcycle and the rider of the bike could not avoid him. The motorcycle struck the other employee and, subsequently, Employee #1 fell from the bike and sustained fatal injuries. The other employee was also killed.
