Employee's wrists broken in fall from stepladder

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 30, 1991, Employee #1, a drywall installer, was placing a piece of drywall inside a skylight shaft when he fell 6 ft from an 8 ft stepladder. He used his hands to break his fall, fracturing both wrists and sustaining a slight concussion. His foreman heard the fall and came to his aid, after which he had the general contractor call 911. Paramedics arrived in approximately 10 minutes and transported Employee #1 to a local hospital.
