Employee's hip fractured in fall from ladder

At approximately 12:00 noon on August 8, 1994, Employee #1, a juice maker in the cook room of a cannery and food processing company, had just visually checked the product level in a tank. He was standing on a portable 8 ft fiberglass ladder that was provided for access. As he descended the ladder, he missed the third step from the bottom, lost his balance, and fell to the cement floor. Employee #1 was hospitalized with a fractured hip.
