Employee's Finger Amputated in Chain and Sprocket

On July 22, 2004, Employee #1 was helping to reinstall a chain on a conveyor sprocket in a fruit packing house in Dinuba, CA. The conveyor was running when Employee #1 picked up a tool under the unguarded chain and sprocket. His finger caught in the sprocket of the conveyor and was crushed and amputated. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Multi-Specialty Center in Fresno, CA.
