Employee's hand injured when operating extractor machine

Employee #1 was working at an extractor, a component of a Rollo machine, which is used to produce ice cream, Popsicles, and other related products. The extractor removes the product from the mold and transports it to a wrapping tray. The paper that lines the trays was breaking. To keep the product from dropping onto the uncovered tray, Employee #1 hit the release bar to drive the product before it reached the tray. She slipped and her hand became wedged between the extractor and the air cylinder, which is adjacent to the extractor. She sustained a laceration and a fracture to her left hand and wrist.
