Employee hospitalized after falling from roof

At approximately 7:00 a.m., Employee #1, of Smith & Son Construction, was getting ready to start work. He was going to nail sheeting onto a roof. Employee #1 accessed the roof using a ladder, then began to walk up the 8:12 pitched roof. Somehow, he lost his footing and slid down the roof. Employee #1 went off the edge and fell 12 ft to the ground. He was hospitalized. Employee #1 was not wearing a safety belt and lanyard.
