Employee catches hand in rip saw while cleaning air line

Employee #1, a rip saw operator, was working on a block rip saw referred to as a mini-rip saw when the air line plugged up. Employee #1 left the saw running, opened the air line covering, and reached in with a stick to clean the air line intake. The stick contacted the saw blade and Employee #1's hand was pulled into the saw. Employee #1 stated that this air line had plugged up before and in those instances he had shut the saw off and locked it out before cleaning the air line. He stated he does not know why he chose to clean the air line with the saw running. Employee #1 has 20 years of experience and has been thoroughly trained in lockout procedures.
