Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 170175483
Event: 08/26/1991
Employee's fingers pinched in rollers of printing press

At approximately 11:20 a.m. on August 26, 1991, Employee #1, of Sir Speedy, was cleaning the ink rollers of an AB Dick 9850 printing press. The power of the press was off as the employee cleaned the rollers with a hand-held swab. The swab had been dipped in a cleaning solvent. While Employee #1 was turning the rollers by hand with a wheel on the side of the machine, his fingers on the hand holding the swab were pinched between two of the rollers. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, checked, then released. Employee #1 had worked for Sir Speedy for only three months, but had done similar work with other employers.
