Glazier injured in fall from scaffold

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on June 9, 1992, Employee #1, a journeyman glazier with 30 years experience, was working from the third level of a metal scaffold in the courtyard of a two-story building under construction in Martinez, CA. He grabbed the midrail to get up, but it was loose on one end and the rail gave way. Employee #1 fell approximately 19 ft to the ground. He was taken to John Muir Hospital for treatment of fractured ribs, a shattered left knee, a dislocated right index finger, and facial lacerations.
