Employee injured when caught in saw carriage

Employee #1 is an electronic technician at a sawmill. After the mill had shut down, Employee #1 was to replace a bolt on a proximity switch on a twin resaw. He leaned on the carriage to get a look at the bolt that he was to replace. At the same time, an oiler, who didn't know anyone was in the saw, turned on the carriage pump. The carriage moved and squeezed Employee #1. Suffering a fractured pelvis and ruptured scrotum, he was hospitalized. Employee #1 had not locked out the saw.
