Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:07 p.m. on March 25, 1998, Employees #1 and #2, both police officers, responded to a trespass complaint. They were questioning a suspect when he pulled two handguns from his pockets. Employees #1 and #2 ordered the suspect to drop the guns, but he fired one round that struck Employee #1 in the head, killing him. Employee #2 shot the suspect in the midsection, but as he was being handcuffed, the suspect shot him in the left leg.
