ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE

AN EMPLOYEE WAS SPLICING A BROKEN 7200-VOLT POWER LINE. THE RECLOSER FOR THE LINE HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND ALLOWED THE LINE TO REMAIN ENERGIZED. THE EMPLOYEE, WHO WAS NOT USING ELECTRICAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND WHO DID NOT TEST THE LINE TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS ENERGIZED, WAS ELECTROCUTED.
