Employee killed when crushed under falling doors

On November 27, 1990, Employee #1 and a helper, of Gen Con Services, were installing solid wood doors, weighing about 100 lb each. The doors had been delivered to the job site approximately 2 weeks earlier. The employees had unloaded the doors and stored them leaning (near vertical) against a concrete block wall. There were 15 to 20 doors. Apparently, Employee #1 had gone to the storage area to get a door and they fell on him. A coworker who had been working outside came in to get an extension cord and noticed Employee #1 under the fallen doors. Employee #1 died. The employer was cited for a serious violation.
