Employee decapitated when caught in auger

On February 25, 1992, Employee #1, of Matico Drilling Company, was operating a Hi-Tech model #75 drilling rig taking soil samples for environmental tests. For some reason, he was caught and wrapped in a revolving auger that was taking soil samples. An air hose used for an air wrench was also caught and wrapped in the auger. Employee #1 was decapitated. Serious and other citations were issued to the employer.
