Employee killed in fall through roof

Employee #1 and a coworker were examining the sides of feed bins and checking on the condition of the steel roof over the seed mixing building, looking for defects and places that had rusted through. Employee #1 stepped on a "soft," rusted-out portion of the roof and fell approximately 35 ft onto the concrete floor. He was killed. No fall protection system was in use.
