Employees injured when excavation wall collapses

Employees #1 and #2 were in an unprotected trench that was 25 ft long by 30 in. wide by 6 to 10 ft deep. The surface fissured where the spoils were located and a wall fell against the opposite wall, trapping the employees. The excavation materials were at the edge of the trench. The jack hammer used earlier was 10 ft away.
